Non-Classroom Teacher Participation in PDE3 Courses

If you are an administrator, district level resource teacher, mentor, curriculum coordinator, or other type of non-classroom teacher participating in one of the PDE3 courses at forteachersbyteachers.net, this page contains important information regarding your participation in all PDE3 courses.

First, thank you so much, I am honored to have your valuable participation in the PDE3 courses at forteachersbyteachers.net. Next, I just want to briefly share with you (if you do not already know) the DOE's stance on non-classroom teachers who are participating in PDE3 courses. I've pasted the policy below in purple. For the implementation portion of your courses, please just be aware that implementation must occur with students and DOE will deny portfolios where implementation occurs with adult colleagues.

I understand that this may be different from what you have experienced in the past as an administrator, district level resource teacher, mentor, curriculum coordinator, or other type of non-classroom teacher participating in PDE3 courses, however this is the current policy.

Here is the DOE's policy on non-classroom teacher participation in PDE3 courses:

Non-Classroom Teachers: Because the DOE is issuing 3-PD credits for evidence of a change in teacher practice and growth/impact on student learning, the expectations and requirements of PDE3 courses are the same for non-classroom teachers as they are for classroom teachers.
Thank you for taking the time to read about this policy and please just let me know if you have any questions. I greatly appreciate your participation in these PDE3 courses and I sincerely hope that you and your students benefit from the experiences!

Sincerely,

Laurence Muleh
PDE3 Course Instructor
