We’re teachers too, and we take your trust seriously. We only collect the information needed to run our courses, support your educational goals, and provide the services you ask us to provide.
We do not sell your personal data.
This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and what choices you have. We’ve written it to be clear, respectful, and easy to understand.

1. What This Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy describes how For Teachers By Teachers LLC (“FTBT”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you visit our website, create an account, enroll in a course, request educational reporting or transcript-related services, contact us, or otherwise use FTBT.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use FTBT, we may collect:
- Account and contact information, such as your name, email address, school, district, and account details
- Educational and reporting information, such as your PDE ID, course enrollments, completion records, grades, scores, certificate requests, transcript requests, and related reporting details
- Course activity information, such as progress, submissions, completion status, and communications related to your coursework
- Transaction information, such as purchases, enrollments, and payment confirmations
- Technical and usage information, such as browser type, IP address, device information, and general site activity
- Support information, such as emails and messages you send us about enrollment, deadlines, transcripts, technical support, or customer service
Payment information is typically processed by secure third-party providers such as Stripe or PayPal. FTBT does not store your full payment card details.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to operate FTBT and provide the services you request. This includes:
- creating and managing your account
- delivering course access, materials, and completion records
- processing payments and enrollments
- issuing certificates and supporting transcript or credit-related services
- reporting Act 48 hours to the Pennsylvania Department of Education, when applicable
- submitting grades and identifying information to the NYC ASPDP system, when applicable
- submitting grades and required student information to university partners such as UMass Global or CSU Pueblo, when applicable
- responding to questions, technical issues, and support requests
- sending receipts, confirmations, course-related updates, reminders, and optional promotional emails
- improving our website, course delivery, user experience, and operations
- maintaining records for educational, administrative, legal, compliance, and audit purposes
4. When We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data. We only share information when it is needed to provide services, fulfill your requests, support educational reporting, operate FTBT, or comply with legal obligations.
This may include sharing information with:
- the Pennsylvania Department of Education for Act 48 reporting
- the NYC ASPDP system for eligible participants
- university partners such as UMass Global or CSU Pueblo for transcripted credit, grade posting, and related processing
- state agencies, districts, school systems, or education-related organizations involved in verification or processing, when applicable
- service providers such as Teachable, Stripe, PayPal, email providers, analytics tools, and support platforms that help us operate FTBT
- legal, regulatory, or governmental authorities when required by law or reasonably necessary for compliance or protection
We expect these providers and partners to use personal information only for appropriate educational, administrative, operational, or legal purposes.
5. Cookies & Site Usage Tools
We and our service providers may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember preferences, understand how the site is used, improve performance, and support communications or marketing.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some features or functionality.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide services, maintain educational and completion records, support transcript and credit-related functions, comply with legal and administrative obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
In some cases, course, reporting, grading, transcript, or related records may need to be retained for an extended period, including after an account becomes inactive or is closed.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These may include secure platforms, encryption in transit, access controls, authentication measures, and vendor security practices.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a data incident requiring notice under applicable law, we will provide notice as required.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to personal information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion of certain information, or object to or limit certain processing.
You may also:
- update certain account information through your account, when available
- unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in the message
- contact us to request access, correction, or deletion, subject to applicable legal, educational, and recordkeeping obligations

California residents: You may have additional rights under California privacy law. FTBT does not sell personal information.
Residents of the EEA, UK, or similar jurisdictions: You may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, including rights related to access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and, where applicable, data portability.
9. Children’s Privacy
FTBT is intended for adult users and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 18. If we learn that we have unintentionally collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
10. Third-Party Platforms
FTBT may use third-party platforms and services such as Teachable, Stripe, PayPal, university systems, email tools, analytics tools, and related providers to deliver courses and support our operations.
When you interact directly with a third-party platform, that provider’s own terms and privacy practices may also apply.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most current version posted on our website will apply going forward. Continued use of FTBT after an updated version is posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
12. Governing Law & Related Terms
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Hawai‘i.
If a dispute arises relating to privacy or data practices, the dispute resolution provisions in our Terms of Use will apply to the extent permitted by law.
