Terms of Use
Welcome to For Teachers By Teachers LLC (“FTBT,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). We’re honored to support educators nationwide in their professional growth. These Terms of Use explain the expectations for using our site and services in a way that protects both of us. Our goal is to keep things clear, respectful, and aligned with how teachers already lead with professionalism.
1. Educational Purpose Only
Our courses are designed exclusively for professional development. They are not intended to serve as legal advice, employment guarantees, or licensure determinations. While we strive to align with DOE and university standards, it is ultimately your responsibility to confirm that your chosen course meets your state, district, or union’s PD, license renewal, or salary advancement requirements.
2. No Guarantee of Outcomes
We love celebrating your career growth — but we can’t promise specific results. FTBT does not guarantee outcomes such as reclassification, salary advancement, job offers, transcript recognition, or credit reimbursement. These depend on policies governed by external organizations such as PDE, ASPDP, HIDOE, TSPC, UMass Global, CSU Pueblo, and individual employers.
3. PDE, Act 48, and Other Approvals
FTBT is a PDE-approved provider (AUN #300000925), and we proudly partner with accredited universities and DOE-aligned institutions. That said, we are not legal representatives of these entities and cannot be held liable for changes in their policies, platform downtimes (e.g., PERMS, Learnsoft, ASPDP), or delayed transcript processing by third parties.
4. User Responsibility
You agree to take full responsibility for reviewing your district, state, or licensing body’s requirements before enrolling in any FTBT course. If you have questions, we’re always happy to assist — but the final responsibility lies with the user to ensure eligibility, timelines, and acceptance of coursework.
5. Instant Access & Refund Policy
Our courses are self-paced and available instantly upon enrollment. Because of this immediate access to proprietary materials, we do not offer refunds once a course has been started. If you encounter a technical error or unusual circumstance, please reach out — we’re here to help and will always consider solutions on a case-by-case basis.
6. Limitation of Liability
While we do our best to make every experience a smooth one, FTBT, its owners, staff, and partners are not responsible for damages arising from use of our courses or website — including (but not limited to) lost wages, denied credits, licensure delays, employment outcomes, or platform interruptions. Participation in any FTBT service is done at your own discretion and risk.
7. Indemnification
By using FTBT, you agree to protect and hold harmless our team, contractors, and affiliated institutions from any claims, disputes, or legal expenses related to your use of the platform or violation of these Terms. We trust our users to act in good faith and appreciate your respect for this mutual protection.
8. Course Modifications
Education is always evolving — and so are we. FTBT may modify, update, pause, or retire any course or offering at any time. Credit eligibility, university partnerships, or pricing may also change based on DOE policy shifts or institutional requirements. We’ll always aim to notify you of changes that may affect your experience.
9. Intellectual Property
All course materials — including videos, documents, graphics, logos, and lesson content — are owned by FTBT and protected under U.S. and international copyright laws. Reproducing, sharing, uploading, or distributing content without express written permission is not permitted. If you love our content and want to share it, please contact us!
10. Third-Party Services
To deliver your experience, we sometimes rely on external tools such as Teachable (our course platform), UMass Global and CSU Pueblo (for university credits), and payment processors. While we aim to partner with the best, we can’t control their uptime, data policies, or user support. Their terms apply once you engage with their services.
11. FERPA & Privacy Compliance
We respect your privacy and comply with FERPA, COPPA, and other applicable U.S. privacy laws. FTBT does not collect or store student data, and we do not sell your information to third parties. You can view our full Privacy Policy for details on how your information is collected, used, and protected.
12. Age Requirements
All FTBT services are intended for adult educators age 18 or older. By enrolling, you confirm that you are of legal age and engaging in our courses solely for educational and professional purposes.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii. Any disputes related to FTBT must be brought in the courts located in Maui County, Hawaii. By using our services, you consent to this jurisdiction and venue.
14. Updates to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in law, practice, or policy. The most current version will always be posted on this page. Your continued use of our platform or courses after any changes indicates your agreement to the updated Terms. We recommend reviewing this page from time to time.
Effective Date: June 16, 2025
These updated Terms replace all prior versions. By continuing to use our platform or courses after this date, all users — including previously enrolled participants — agree to be bound by these Terms of Use.
If you have questions about these Terms, we welcome you to reach out any time at [email protected]. We’re here to support you every step of the way!
