No problem β you're still covered. Every course includes a free Certificate of Completion documenting 45 clock hours, with no credit fee to pay at all. Plenty of teachers use it purely for district PD records. Clock-hour acceptance varies by state and district, so it's worth a quick check with yours before enrolling.
These are graduate-level, non-degree credits β widely used for salary lanes and license renewal, but they don't stack toward a master's degree.

Frequently Asked Questions
Most U.S. districts accept regionally accredited graduate credit for salary advancement and license renewal β and both UMass Global (WSCUC) and CSU Pueblo (HLC) are regionally accredited. You'll receive an official university transcript that HR departments recognize. Salary and renewal policies are set district-by-district, so a quick check with your HR or salary office before enrolling is always a good move. If your district needs documentation, our accreditation page has everything your HR needs β or just email info@forteachersbyteachers.org.
Yes. The optional credits are graduate-level, non-degree semester units β issued by UMass Global (regionally accredited by WSCUC) or CSU Pueblo (regionally accredited by HLC). They're the same type of credit teachers commonly use for salary lane movement and license renewal. Because they're non-degree credits, they don't stack toward a master's degree at either university. For full accreditation details to share with your HR or district, see our accreditation page.
Every For Teachers By Teachers course comes with a graduate credit option from one of two regionally accredited university partners. The difference is grade format, price, and how you pay. UMass Global issues a letter-grade transcript (AβF): $165 to start, plus an optional $190 credit fee paid to UMass Global anytime β even after you finish. CSU Pueblo issues a pass/fail transcript: an individual course is $285 all-in (course and credit together in one payment), or $120 per course when you add the credit inside a Build-Your-Own bundle. Choose UMass Global if your district requires a letter grade, or CSU Pueblo for the lower-cost pass/fail route. Not sure which your district requires? Email us before enrolling and we'll help you check.
For UMass Global, the $190 transcript fee is completely optional and can be paid anytime β including after you finish the course. For CSU Pueblo, it depends on how you enroll: individual CSU Pueblo courses are priced at $285 as a combined course-and-credit fee. If you enroll via a BYO bundle, the $120 CSU Pueblo credit fee is paid separately anytime β even after you finish. The payment link sits inside your online classroom, ready when you need it.
Yes. Every course includes a free Certificate of Completion documenting 45 clock hours, and there's no credit fee to pay if that's all you need. Depending on your state, we also provide Act 48 hours uploaded directly to PERMS (Pennsylvania), clock hour certificates ready for OPAL upload (Nevada), ASPDP credits (NYC), and more. How clock hours are counted varies by state and district, so check with yours to confirm what they'll accept. You only pay a credit fee if you specifically need university credit on a transcript.
All courses are 100% self-paced, so you can start and finish on your timeline. There are no live meetings, no assignment due dates from us, and no busywork. Most teachers complete a course over a few weekends β but you can take longer if you need to.
