Common Ways Nevada Teachers Use These Courses

For Teachers By Teachers is an online professional development company for K-12 teachers, founded in 2015, with university partners UMass Global and CSU Pueblo. Here's how Nevada teachers most commonly use our courses:

1

License Renewal

Nevada requires 90 clock hours per renewal cycle. Each FTBT course = 45 clock hours. Complete 2 courses, download your Nevada DOE-approved certificates, and upload them to your OPAL account.

2

Salary Advancement

Add optional 3 graduate semester credits from UMass Global ($190, letter grade) or CSU Pueblo ($120, pass/fail) for an official transcript. Many Nevada districts accept regionally accredited graduate credit for salary lane movement — check with your HR office first.

3

PD Documentation

Every course includes a Certificate of Completion with 45 documented instructional hours. Useful for district PD records even if you don't need university credit.

Nevada Teacher FAQ

Will my Nevada district accept these clock hours for license renewal?

Yes — For Teachers By Teachers is listed as an approved Online Continuing Education Provider by the Nevada Department of Education. You can verify this on the official Nevada DOE Approved Online Providers list. Your Nevada DOE-approved Certificate of Completion lists 45 clock hours and references NAC 391.065 and NAC 391.067 — the Nevada regulations governing continuing education requirements — so your renewal documentation is audit-ready for OPAL.

How do I submit my hours to OPAL?

When you complete a course, we email you a PDF Certificate of Completion with your 45 clock hours and the NAC regulation references. You download that certificate and upload it directly to your OPAL account — it's your step, not ours. Nevada DOE doesn't accept provider-side reporting for renewal documentation, so the certificate-to-OPAL upload is straightforward and entirely in your hands. Most teachers do it in under five minutes.

How many courses do I need for a full Nevada renewal cycle?

Nevada requires 90 clock hours per renewal cycle. Each For Teachers By Teachers course = 45 clock hours, so 2 courses covers one full renewal cycle. Many teachers buy a 3-, 4-, or 5-course bundle to bank hours ahead — and the bundle pricing means you save more the more you take.

Will my district accept the optional graduate credits for salary advancement?

Many Nevada districts accept regionally accredited graduate credit for salary lane movement. We offer two transcript options: UMass Global ($190, letter grade, regionally accredited by WSCUC) or CSU Pueblo ($120, pass/fail, regionally accredited by HLC). That said, the Nevada DOE itself notes that salary advancement acceptance varies by employer — so a quick check with your district HR office before purchasing is always a smart move. If your district confirms acceptance, you can add the transcript fee anytime from inside your online classroom, even after you finish the course.

How long do I have to finish the course?

All courses are 100% self-paced. There are no live sessions, no assignment deadlines from us, and no busywork. Most teachers finish in a few weekends, but take the time you need — the course stays open on your timeline.

What if I enroll and it's not the right fit?

We offer a 7-day refund window. Enroll, log in, preview the materials — and if it's not what you expected, email us within 7 days for a full refund. Full details on our Terms page.
