Throughout this Terms of Use, https://forteachersbyteachers.net and For Teachers | By Teachers online school will be referred to as "School". By accessing this School, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms of Use, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. The materials contained in this School are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law. This School and all contents are protected by U.S. and International copyright laws. Reproduction of the contents and/or distribution of the contents without written permission of the owner is prohibited. Mirroring or replicating the contents without written permission of the owner is prohibited. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site.

2. Use License

  1. Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of any downloadable materials on the School’s website for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:
      • modify or copy the materials;
      • use the materials for any commercial purpose, or for any public display (commercial or non-commercial);
      • attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software contained on the School’s web site;
      • remove any copyright or other proprietary notations from the materials; or
      • transfer the materials to another person or 'mirror' the materials on any other server.
  2. This license shall automatically terminate if you violate any of these restrictions and may be terminated by Company at any time.   3. Online classroom access is limited to the duration of your section (between the "start date" and the "end date"). Once your course section's "end date" arrives, your online classroom will close and you will no longer be able to access the contents and materials of the online classroom.

The materials on the School’s website are provided 'as is'. The School makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties, including without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights. Further, the School does not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on its website or otherwise relating to such materials or on any sites linked to this site.

4. Limitations

In no event shall the School be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on the School’s website, even if the School or an authorized of the School has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage. Because some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties, or limitations of liability for consequential or incidental damages, these limitations may not apply to you.

5. Revisions and Errata

The materials appearing on the School’s website may include technical, typographical, or photographic errors. The School does not warrant that any of the materials on its web site are accurate, complete, or current. 7. Site Terms of Use Modifications

The School may revise these Terms of Use for its website at any time without notice. By using this website you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these Terms of Use.

8. Governing Law

Any claim relating to the School’s website shall be governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

9. Refund/Cancellation Policy

Course fee is nonrefundable.

10. Hawaii State DOE Participants in PDE3 courses are responsible for the following

a. Completing the appropriate Form DOE OHR 200-005 and getting official approval from their principal or supervisor that this course can be used for reclassification and aligns with the participant’s PD plan.
b. Completing all course requirements, including timelines set by the instructor. Completing course assignments in the required sequence.
c. Completing a quality Learning Results Portfolio (LRP) that meets the LRP requirements stated in the approved course syllabus, the Learning Results Portfolio Assessment Rubric, and the LRP Success Indicators (click here and see page 29). Completing and submitting their Learning Results Portfolio no later than the Portfolio Due Date. In order for portfolios to be accepted for consideration of PD credits, portfolios must be received by the Portfolio Due Date. By agreeing to these Terms of Use, participants agree that they understand that there are no portfolio due date extensions, no course extensions, and no section rollovers.
d. Communicating with the instructor about the course and its requirements. Communicating with the instructor about any issues accessing/using their forteachersbyteachers.net account and/or any issues accessing/using their online classroom/s and materials. Communicating with the course instructor if they need access to their purchased online classroom.
e. Adherence to the HIDOE Code of Conduct, HIDOE procedures and expectations, or Board of Education (BOE) policies including but not limited to Standards of Practice.
f. Reviewing the Guidelines for Approval of Academic/Professional Development Credits for Teacher Reclassification posted in DOE Memos and Notices annually: Teacher Reclasification Memo and Guidelines. Please understand that it is your responsibility to review the reclassification guidelines and procedures prior to enrolling in any course work. Should you have any questions after reading these guidelines you are welcome to call the Teacher Reclassification Unit at (808) 441-8383. Please pay special attention to the three (3) forms that need to be utilized and the timeline that needs to be followed when submitting these forms.
g. Ensuring that they are officially registered for their course/section within their PDE3 account, before their course/section begins. At the conclusion of the course/section, it is each participant's responsibility to ensure that their PDE3 records are correct. If there are any discrepancies in participants' PDE3 records, they must be reported to the course instructor within 60 days of their course/section's end date. The DOE and PDE3 will only consider PDE3 transcript corrections within 60 days of a course/section's end date. It is the participant's responsibility to keep a copy of their completed Learning Results Portfolio for their records.
h. Understanding that a grade of "complete" and PD credits will not be granted if the participant has not met all the requirements of the PD credit course. There is no partial credit for completing a portion of the course requirements.
i. Understanding that it is a requirement that implementation assignments must occur in a Hawaii State DOE settings (virtual or in-person) with Hawaii State DOE students, so the implementation assignments may not be completed with participants' own children, or family friends, or any non DOE related club/group, etc.
j. Understanding that in order to receive PD credits from PDE3, Hawaii State DOE participants must complete the course with Hawaii State DOE students on a Hawaii State DOE campus. According to the Hawaii State DOE, the expectations and requirements of PDE3 courses are the same for non-classroom teachers as they are for classroom teachers.

11. Hawaii State DOE Participants in any of our courses are responsible for the following

Teachers should receive signed principal approval on the appropriate DOE 200-005 Form before enrolling in any coursework (academic credits and Department PD credits) that will be applied towards reclassification. Teachers should seek guidance from their principal/administrator on the courses (academic credits and Department PD credits) they plan to enroll in to ensure the courses meet their school’s design plan and instructional needs. If submitting only university/college credits for reclassification: For the submission of university/college credits, teachers will submit their request on form DOE OTM 200-005, Teacher Reclassification/Update Only/Certification/Other Request Form, listing the approved university/college coursework they have completed. Official university/college transcript containing the courses being submitted should be attached to form DOE OTM 200-005.

12. CTLE and P-Credits for New York City DOE Participants

Participants who do not register with ASPDP before the registration deadline will be unable to register or receive P-credit. To receive full CTLE and salary differential credit for this course you must register with ASPDP on their website (click here) prior to the registration deadline. If you do not complete the ASPDP registration by the registration deadline then you will not be eligible for CTLE or P-credits towards your salary differential.
