The dyslexia requirement — already built into every course
Texas rule 19 TAC §232.11(c)(1) says it plainly: “All educators must receive CPE training regarding educating students with disabilities. This training must include information particular to educating students with dyslexia.”

Under 19 TAC §232.11, classroom teachers complete 150 CPE clock hours in each five-year renewal period; principals, counselors, superintendents, librarians, educational diagnosticians and reading specialists complete 200. Each course here is 45 clock hours — four courses deliver 180 (the $297 bundle), five deliver 225 (the $349 bundle). Your own certificate’s requirements are always the final word; TEA publishes them at tea.texas.gov.
Yes. TEA lists “Online courses and webinars” among acceptable CPE activities, and its rule is that only CPE activities from approved providers are recognized for certificate renewal. The courses from For Teachers By Teachers are 100% online and self-paced, from a provider on TEA’s approved list.
Yes. For Teachers By Teachers, LLC appears on TEA’s public list of approved CPE providers under five subject areas: Classroom Instruction & Pedagogy; Counseling/Health/Mental Health; Early Childhood; English Language Arts and Reading; and Special Education. Our provider number is 910094. TEA approves providers, not individual courses, so look for the provider’s name on TEA’s list rather than a course stamp.
Yes. All educators must complete CPE on educating students with disabilities, including information particular to dyslexia (19 TAC §232.11(c)(1)). Every Texas course here includes the Texas Module: Educating Students with Disabilities and Dyslexia, so that requirement is covered inside the course you are already taking. And if you teach students with dyslexia, 19 TAC §232.11(k) asks for new research and practices — the module covers that too, with dated, current sources rather than evergreen basics.

When you finish and send your completion email, we email you a certificate listing the provider name and provider number (910094), your name, the date you completed the course, the content of the course, and 45 clock hours — every item 19 TAC §232.21 requires a provider to document. Keep it with your renewal records; Texas asks educators to maintain documentation of completed CPE (19 TAC §232.16). We also keep a record of your completion for seven years. Yes, through the university-credit route. Under TEA’s rule, one semester credit from an accredited institution of higher education equals 15 CPE hours, so 3 graduate-level professional development (PD) credits from UMass Global or CSU Pueblo count as 45 CPE hours. These are non-degree university PD credits on an official transcript, not For Teachers By Teachers CPE courses. The $99 Texas courses on this page are CPE clock hours with nothing else to pay; if you want university credit instead, browse our graduate-level PD credit courses. Heads up: every Texas educator also needs CPE on students with disabilities and dyslexia. The university-credit courses don't include it, but it's built into every $99 Texas course here, so one Texas course covers it.
